People in Need (PIN) Mongolia organised a Civil Society Now (CSN) networking event on November 13 2023. Jan Vytopil, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia, was joined by representatives of local CSOs who are members of the CSN platform, delegates from international governmental organisations (IGOs), and partner organisations.
We extend special recognition to the panellists who shared their valuable insights during the event: Ch. Ganjavkhlan, Director of the "Do Good Hub"; G. Khishigbat, the Executive Director of Monlogistics Holding Company; and O. Saranchuluun, the mentor of the "Do Good Hub".
The panel discussion was insightful, with valuable suggestions on the Civil Society space in Mongolia. During the discussion, it was particularly enlightening to hear the ideas shared about improvements in the policy environment regarding financing and future sustainability of CSOs, the creation of an environment for CSOs to exchange ideas and cooperation, and cooperation between CSOs and the private sector are possible. This kind of collaboration holds great potential for positive change and progress in society.
At People in Need, we have been operating in Mongolia since 2009. We strive for a Mongolia where local communities are strengthened, respective of human rights, and empowered to be the drivers of change and equal opportunities. Apart from providing emergency relief, we build the capacities of cooperatives, civil society organisations, and local authorities, support sustainable living, strengthen higher education, promote environmental protection, and raise awareness about air pollution.
The "Do Good Hub" is an NGO that aims to support volunteers, non-governmental organisations, and clubs who selflessly dedicate their knowledge to the welfare of society. Notably, the hub provides office space for NGOs, youth, and clubs to work, along with training programmes implemented specifically for them.
CSN, an innovative web-based platform, is an initiative developed by PIN under the Civil Society Now project. The goal of the CSN project is to contribute to the development and growth of the local CSOs based on their needs and requirements. It functions as a membership model that provides member CSOs with our internal resources that have taken years to develop to strengthen their organisational capacities.
